Easter is just around the corner, and if you're looking for a place to get away, Larnaca has it all. Read on to see why you should visit at Easter time....
1. Great Cypriot Weather.
Easter is in spring which means that this small and charming city is in full bloom. Spring is by far one of the most charming seasons to visit. The weather is mild and often a light jacket suffices as temperatures rarely fall below 17 degrees.

2. Byzantine history.
Saint Lazarus church boasts awe inspiring gothic and Byzantine architecture and is one of the most important and historic churches of the island. Built in 890 by a byzantine emperor, you can also visit the remains of Ayios (Saint) Lazarus, one of Eastern Christianity's most revered saints.

3. Yummy eats.
Tantalise your taste buds with some of Larnaca's most luscious fare. Head towards Mackenzie beach to taste some 'kleftico' succulent lamb slow cooked in traditional clay ovens, or feast on some uber-healthy grilled fish and salad, by the sea. Lastly, don't leave without sampling some 'flaounes' from a generous housewife or your nearest bakery. These pastries are filled with a mixture of cheese, eggs and mint to taste, and sprinkled with sesame on top. It wouldn't be Easter without them.

Above, a tub of traditional Cypriot Flaounes, straight from the oven. Delicious.
